Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side

Prepare for a world of interesting thoughts, new realities, and a blast from what seemed like a dead past! Beth Fantaskey brings you an interesting concept of a young woman who was taken from her home and family in Romania to America as a baby during something that only had only been described to her as the "purge". No one really ever seems to grasp the concept of European concepts screwing up families and yet, Fantaskey does a great job bringing the concept anew with a few new additions. Vampires, lost love, and a hard-ass attitude that only royalty can bring. Welcome to the fabulous new life of Jessica Packwood!

When a terrible murderous issue rises in a small town in Romania, a queen and king must sacrifice a princess' life for their young baby girl and they order for the Packwoods, a couple of American scientists to take their daughter with them and flee the country, back to a small town in America. Jessica was this small baby and she remembers little to nothing about her past except her old name, Antanasia, and when a mysterious man appears under a tree near Jessica's bus stop, whispering that old name that barely three people even know about, next to her, Jessica's life gets turned upside-down. Soon this mysterious man is enrolled in Jessica's Senior Lit class and is pretty mush stalking her. The only thing that she knows about said mystery-man is that he is an incredibly hot Romanian prince named Lucius Vladescu (Vla-DES-cu, emphasis on the DES). Soon, Lucius is in Jessica's home trying to convince her that she is a Romanian Vampire Princess and his alleged bride-to-be. Jessica's "parents" can only stand beside him and nod because they know all of this to be true but Jessica will not stand for it. Every pickup-line and kind courtesy that Lucius does for her, trying to get closer to her and make her understand the truth, Jessica ignores because she refuses to be a part of what she calls "Lucius's insanity". Soon, Jessica is finding Lucius unbearable and things get even more complicated when she gets asked out by the local hottie, Jake, and "Lukey" gets in the way. Luke and Jessica are a difficult match and when terrible discoveries are made, the whole plan goes out-of-whack and everybody is in danger.

This amazing tale that Fantaskey has created is simple, yet elegant, romantic, yet not, and fabulous with no exceptions! I found myself glued to this book until I had read it cover to cover and I must say, that the twists and turns of this story-line are unheard of and completely scintillating! You will love the humorous, romantic, and graphic life that Beth Fantaskey puts you into! Definitely five stars, two thumbs up, and a "YIPPEE!!" for an amazing piece of work and something actually good to read!
